Possible confusions

Confusion possible avec l'élodée du canada (Elodea canadensis). Toutefois dans cette dernière les feuilles verticillées sont au nombre de trois.

Biotope / Habitat

Mares, étangs, rivières. Préférence marquée pour les eaux fraîches, courantes ou renouvelées. L'herbier à Potamot dense peut être mitoyen avec les zones recouvertes par les Characées.
