PlantsErect thalli
Algue rouge de thalle est formé de filaments microscopiques noyés dans une gelée translucide. Le thalle est cylindrique, dressé, gélatineux et à nombreux ramules. La couleur est généralement rose plus ou moins foncé. La taille est de 20 cm maximum.
