Bonnemaisonia asparagoides (Woodward) C. Agardh, 1822

PlantsErect thalli

Algue dressée, souple, pouvant atteindre 25 cm de haut, de couleur rouge vif à rouge brunâtre. Les frondes sont en forme de plumes, dont l'axe principal 1 à 2 mm de diamètre, est très ramifié de façon irrégulière. Cette description correspond au gamétophyte * qui est visible de mai à septembre. Les boules blanches sont les organes reproducteurs. * Organisme végétal destiné à former les gamètes

Possible confusions

D'autres espèce du genre Bonnemaisonia comme B.hamifera ou B. clavata et de l'algue à crochets Asparagopsis armata

Biotope / Habitat

De 0 à 30 m, sur les substrats durs.

Distribution

Atlantique Nord-Est, depuis la Norvège jusqu'au Maroc. Toute la Méditerranée. Serait probablement originaire du Pacifique occidental et aurait été introduite vers la fin du 19ème siècle.
