Taille : 30cm de hauteur, 20cm de diamètre, 1 à 2cm d'épaisseur
Couleur : brun foncé, brunâtre, gris-verdâtre
Aspect : forme de coupe épaisse (base moins large que le sommet avec un petit rétrécissement après la base), texture ferme et rugueuse, petits pores inhalants (ostioles) répartis sur la face externe, pores exhalants (oscules) petits et peu visibles, accumulation possible de sédiment dans la cavité interne
