Possible confusions
Avec l'hydraire antenne Nemertesia antennina qui est plus grand (jusqu'à 25 cm), forme des touffes plus denses qui ne présentent pas de ramifications.

Touffe de tiges jaunes pâles à orange, irrégulièrement ramifiées, de 15 cm de hauteur maximum. Chaque tige, forme une colonie, et porte sur toute sa longueur, de fins filaments blanchâtre où se trouve les polypes.
Gonothèques jaunes ovoïdes le long des tiges.
