Très grandes colonies :
- Taille jusqu'à 4 m d'envergure et 2 m de hauteur,
- Branches épaisses, aplaties, inclinées obliquement et parallèles les unes aux autres, de 3 à 30 cm d'envergure,
- Couleur brun-doré (extrémités blanches).
Dans les zones à fort hydrodynamisme, les colonies peuvent devenir encroutantes.
