Possible confusions
Peut être confondue avec la padine, qui présente elle aussi des stries concentriques, mais qui a une hauteur inférieure ( de 5 à 10 cm), avec une forme en cornet.

Ressemble à une feuille, de couleur jaune brun jaunâtre à brun foncé, d'une hauteur entre 15 et 20 cm.
Elle possède une nervure centrale rouge à la base qui s'estompe rapidement.
Du stipe le thalle s'élargit et présente :
- des ramifications irrégulières qui se terminent par 2 lobes.
- des stries concentriques semblables à ceux de la padine.
