Corps avec dominante bleue et jaune. Couronne bleue plus ou moins foncée sur le front. Bouche bleue. Nageoire caudale jaune. Souvent solitaire et farouche.

Possible confusions

Le poisson ange bleu (Holacanthus bermudensis) est absent des Petites Antilles.

Biotope / Habitat

Sur les récifs isolés, jusqu'à 70 m de profondeur.

Distribution

Atlantique ouest tropical, des Bermudes au Brésil et dans le Golfe du Mexique. Petites Antilles.
