Remarkable
Taille : maximum 2,5 m pour un poids de 140 kg
Corps : fusiforme, robuste et de forme compacte. Chez l'adulte le corps est tacheté voir moucheté, le dos est recouvert d'une cape sombre avec des taches claires, les flancs sont légèrement plus clairs, le ventre blanc crème recouvert de taches plus sombres.
Tête : rostre assez long, melon proéminent bien apparent et tranché. Bout des lèvres blanc
Aileron dorsal : en forme de faucille, non tacheté.
Nageoires pectorales : longues en forme de croissant
Nageoire caudale : concave avec un sillon médian
Les veaux sont gris clair
Il vit en groupe, en communauté.
