Taille 60 cm à 1m Eponge jaune à orangé ayant des branches cylindriques bien développées, en forme éventuellement d'éventail mais pouvant être disposées tout autrement en fonction des conditions du milieu. Consistance souple. Oscules petits et répartis sur l'intégralité des branches en forme de cercle ou étoilés.

Biotope / Habitat

Zones peu éclairées et peu agitées. Substrats durs souvent légèrement envasés. De 15 à 100 m de profondeur.

Méditerranée et Atlantique NE (des îles britanniques au Sénégal), iles Canaries.
