La coquille de la porcelaine églantine, est comme toutes les porcelaines caractérisée par sa forme ovalaire et bombée, avec une surface lisse, brillante et vernissée.
La porcelaine églantine présente une teinte de fond brun clair à rose pâle, ornée de petites taches blanchâtres ou beiges disposées régulièrement. La face ventrale est plus claire, souvent blanchâtre, avec une ouverture étroite et longue bordée de dents fines et bien marquées.
