Éponge en forme de doigts au sommets aplatis et portant les oscules, orange plus ou moins foncé pouvant virer à l'orange sombre. Plus elle est jeune plus elle est jaune clair presque vert, plus elle est vieille plus elle est orange avec des protubérances. Éponge de 10 à 20 cm de haut qui noircit au contact de l'air.
