Récifs coralliens et lagons, jusqu'à 25 m de profondeur. Cohabite avec deux espèces d'anémones : Heteractis magnifica et Stichodactyla mertensii.

Robe rose. Une bande blanche part d'au-dessus de la bouche jusqu'à la nageoire caudale. Nageoires dorsale et caudale blanches/transparentes.
La femelle a une taille maxi de 11 cm, tandis que le mâle plus petit ne dépasse pas 7 cm
