Taille : 20 cm en moyenne, jusqu'à 50cm Couleur : "tige" noirâtre avec polypes blancs Il se développe à partir d'un réseau stolon en rampant sur le substrat, de là se développe la colonie ressemblant à un ensemble de plumes. Chaque "tige" donne des rameaux alternes dans un même plan. Les polypes sont espacés, ils ont une forme de poire et portent des tentacules longs. Photophile
