Remarkable

Colonies branchues pouvant atteindre 1 m de diamètre : - Branches larges, épaisses et aplaties peu divisées, - Verrues régulières en taille et espacement, - Couleur marron ou rose.

Possible confusions

Pocillopore méandreux, Pocillopora meandrina : forme des buissons pouvant atteindre 30 cm de diamètre, avec des branches plates, souvent incurvées, qui partent radialement du point initial de développement de la colonie.

Biotope / Habitat

Présent à faible profondeur jusqu'à 20 m (peut se rencontrer jusqu'à 40 m) sur des substrats durs (fronts récifaux exposés).

Distribution

Mer Rouge et Indo-Pacifique tropical.
