Colonies pouvant atteindre 50 cm de hauteur : - forme des bouquets de tubes relativement longue, - Branches de couleur vert foncé-marron, - Tentacules verts à bruns parfois gris. Espèce sciaphile, l'espèce est dépourvue de zooxanthelles. Ses polypes sont majoritairement déployés la nuit. Cette espèce n'est pas considérée en tant que constructeur de récif.

Tubastrée, Tubastraea sp : autres espèces du genre.

Biotope / Habitat

Observée uniquement sur des substrats artificiels.

Distribution

Originaire d'Indopacifique, l'espèce a été introduite dans les Caraïbes

Species status description

Espèce introduite, son signalement peut permettre de déterminer la dynamique des populations (de manière comparable à Tubastraea coccinea).
