Yellow encrusting anemone

Parazoanthus axinellae (Schmidt, 1862)

Petites anémones jaunes vivant en colonie avec des tentacules fines et dont le disque a un diamètre de 1 cm au maximum. Se trouvent souvent sur des éponges axinelles plates (d'où leur nom) mais aussi sur d'autres éponges ou des rochers.

Possible confusions

Corail jaune solitaire mais comme son nom l'indique il n'est pas en colonie et il a un squelette calcaire

Biotope / Habitat

Espèce sciaphile, sous des tombants et à l'entrée des grottes, dans le coralligène

Atlantique Nord-est, Manche, Méditerranée
