La bécune jello Sphyraena jello : est bien plus grande (jusqu'à 1,50 m) et les barres sombres verticales sont plus prononcées et peuvent descendre jusqu'au ventre.

Dépasse rarement les 45 cm. Corps argenté avec des reflets jaunâtres sur le dos. La nageoire caudale est jaune-vert. Ligne sombre sur le flanc, avec parfois des barres verticales au-dessus de cette ligne.
