Ver annélide sédentaire. On observe de nombreux et longs tentacules mobiles de couleur blanc arrosé souvent marqué de points blancs (une centaine). Le corps rond mesure de 3 à 15 centimètres de long. Il peut être de couleur gris orangé à brun rosé avec des points blancs. Le corps est protégé par un tube composé par l'agglomération des sédiments.
