Bivalve : ressemblant à un poing fermé avec le pouce en l'air Coquille : aplatie, ovale, irrégulière dont le bord supérieur se prolonge par une excroissance longue et fine. La valve inférieure est bombée et la valve supérieure est plate. Taille : environ au maximum 10 cm Couleur externe : jaunâtre à brune , blanc nacré a l'intérieur
