Éponge calcaire beige à jaune avec des paillettes jaunes. Sa forme est plutôt compacte mais avec des excroissances et des coulures. Sa taille ne dépasse pas 40 cm. Gros oscules très visibles.

Sous des rochers dans des zones peu éclairées mais à faible profondeur : 15 m maximum.
