Les pycnogonides ont un corps mince et délicat, une petite tête et un abdomen étiré. De couleur jaune pâle au brunâtre, ils sont de petite taille de 1 à 2 cm. Ils possèdent 8 pattes minces et allongées, portant des griffes à leurs extrémités. Absence d'abdomen distinct. Le prosome (partie antérieure du corps, équivalent au céphalothorax des crustacés) fin et long est terminé par une trompe. 4 yeux
Postérieurement, on observe un opisthosome réduit.
