Taille : jusqu'à 25 cm Couleur : sombre avec des tâches noires Aspect : peau contractile rugueuse qui sécrète un mucus qui lui permet d'être complètement recouverte de sable/algues/débris divers, peau hérissée de tubercules portant à l'extrémité des papilles blanches, podia sur la face ventrale blancs et positionnés de manière aléatoire

Possible confusions

Holothurie tubuleuse Holothuria tubulosa : jamais recouvert de gros débris et sans pointes blanches Holothurie noire Holothuria forskali(: ne se contracte que rarement Concombre cracheur marron Holothuria sanctori : possède des cercles jaunâtres à la base des papilles

Biotope / Habitat

Fonds rocheux et sableux mais surtout dans les herbiers de posidonies Zone : proche surface à 20m mais également observée à 250m
