Petite murène de 1 m maximum. Corps brun foncé. Présence d'une tache noire qui va du dessous de l'oeil à l'arrière de la bouche. Présence d'une tache noire autour de l'ouïe. Relativement agressive.

Biotope / Habitat

Trous et crevasses des récifs de 5 à 50 m, principalement des îles océaniques.

Distribution

Largement répandue dans l'océan Indien. Pacifique tropical ouest.
