Peut atteindre 75 cm de long. La femelle est jaune avec des barres bleu turquoise sur les flancs. Bandes bleues sur le visage. Le mâle a une teinte plus bleue/verte avec les mêmes marques sur le visage. La nageoire pectorale est bleue. La démarcation des écailles est fortement marquée.
