Bryozoaire encroûtant de couleur orange vif plus ou moins clair. Les logettes sont visibles à l'oeil nu et au toucher la surface est rugueuse et souvent mamelonnée. la surface de la colonie va de quelques cm2 à 80 cm2.

Algues ou éponges encroûtantes mais leur surface est lisse

Abondant sur toutes sortes de supports durs comme des roches ou du coralligène. peut atteindre 100 m de profondeur.
