Plante vivace terrestre recouverte par un poil blanc cotonneux : - Taille de 40 à 50 cm de hauteur, - Feuilles lobées finement découpées, argentées et duveteuses sur les deux faces. Floraison de Aout à Septembre : petits capitules contenant chacun trois à six fleurs tubulaires, de teinte jaune ou brune.

Biotope / Habitat

Haut schorre et prés-salés.

Distribution

Du nord d'e l'Europe et d'Asie depuis les îles britanniques jusqu'aux rives de la mer Baltique, en France (côtes Atlantique, Manche, mer du Nord et Méditerranée).
