La ponte peut être confondue avec celles des autres Doto notamment Doto fragilis qui peut être rencontrée sur l'hydraire antenne Nemertesia anteninna.

Biotope / Habitat

Milieux rocheux ou sableux, sur l'hydraire antenne Nemertesia anteninna, jusqu'à 100 m de profondeur.

Distribution

Atlantique NE, Manche, Mer du Nord : tout autour des Iles Britanniques, de la Scandinavie au nord de l'Espagne.
