- Crabe dont la carapace épaisse et aplatie, peut mesurer 10 cm maximum
- La couleur sur la face dorsale est brun verdâtre avec des marbrures jaunâtres. La surface ventrale est jaune.
- Les pinces (extrémités brunes) sont fortes, inégales couvertes de tubercules sur la partie avant. Les pattes ambulatoires portent des poils.
- La moitié antérieure de la carapace porte des épines.
