Asterina gibbosa (Pennant, 1777)

Petite étoile de mer d'une taille maximum de 7 cm avec 5 bras courts aux pointes arrondies (parfois 7 bras). Le corps est massif. Couleur très variable : jaune clair, verte pâle à gris brun et aussi rouge orangé ou violette.

Possible confusions

Avec l'Astérie naine Asterina phylactica : Beaucoup plus petite se rencontre dans des zones plus éclairées

Biotope / Habitat

Cette étoile de mer craint la lumière, on la trouve dans les zones sombres comme dans l'herbier, les anfractuosités.
