Algue rouge dressée de 15 cm de haut, les branches sont de section arrondie et de consistance cartilagineuse, les ramifications sont irrégulièrement dichotomiques et portent des excroissances translucides creuses en forme de gouttes allongées de 1 cm de long environ. La couleur va du brun foncé au rouge violacé.
