Taille : 20cm de hauteur pour 10 à 12 cm de large Couleur : blanc avec éventuellement des reflets bleutés Aspect : forme de poire, fixée à la base, tunique épaisse et bosselée, deux siphons bien distincts (siphon inhalant au sommet, siphon exhalant au tiers du corps) qui peuvent être fermés

Possible confusions

Ascidie plissée (Styela plicata) qui a des siphons avec des lignes violacées
