Taille : 7 à 20cm Couleur : rose-orangée, rouge Aspect : ressemble à un petit buisson épineux, les axes sont arrondis et alternés, plus fins à leurs extrémités (aspect "pointu"), aspect plus duveté en période de reproduction Son observation est plutôt rare.

Possible confusions

Avec l'algue saucisson Lomentaria articulata mais celle-ci présente des étranglements dans les rameaux
