Aspect : corps ovale recouvert de très fines écailles, ligne latérale en forme de vague, tête courte, lèvres charnues, bande jaune à marron foncé en diagonale barrant l'oeil, yeux jaunes et ronds, 2 nageoires dorsales (première courte, seconde en symétrie de la nageoire anale), nageoire caudale fine et en forme de croissant
