Remarkable
- taille maxi 25 cm
- coloration rose vif, 3 bandes horizontales jaunes au niveau des yeux
- corps ovale, gros yeux, bouche vers le bas (boudeur), nageoire caudale fortement échancrées, longues nageoires pelviennes
- hermaphrodite protogyne : femelle puis mâle
- dimorphisme sexuel : le mâle arbore des couleurs jaunes sur les nageoires et un filament est visible au niveau de la nageoire dorsale
