Plante vivace à souche rampante : - Taille de 0,1 à 1,2 m, - Tiges triquètres (à 3 angles saillants) à faces planes, - Feuilles longues de 3 à 8 mm de largeur, - Epillets roussatres et oblongs qui sont regroupés de manière compacte sur la tige. Floraison de Juillet à Septembre.

Biotope / Habitat

Supportant les eaux saumatres, l'espèce est présente dans les marais et rivières, au bord d'estuaire et dans l'intérieur, en France et en Corse.

Distribution

Espèce présente dans toutes les zones humides, y compris les littoraux de la Manche, de l'Océan Atlantique et de la Méditérranée.
