La ponte prend la forme d'un cordon gélatineux souple, fin et translucide, d'une teinte allant du blanc au rose pâle.
L'animal enroule ce ruban en spirale ou en lacets denses autour des axes et ramifications des colonies d'hydraires.
La ponte rassemble plusieurs milliers d'oeufs microscopiques (d'une taille avoisinant 70 micromètres).
