Coregonus lavaretus (Linnaeus, 1758)

Salmonidé pélagique et grégaire, pouvant atteindre des poids de 2 à 3 kg pour une taille de 60 à 80 cm. Corps allongé argenté, petite bouche, écailles très visibles, présence d'une nageoire adipeuse, nageoire caudale très échancrée. Pour observer cette espèce des eaux profondes, la période du fraie est favorable. Les regroupements de mâles et de femelles prés des rives, à faible profondeur ont lieu entre novembre et janvier selon la température de l'eau.

Biotope / Habitat

Lacs assez profonds d'eau froide, claire et oxygénée, non polluée. Vit en profondeur (> 20 m) mais remonte vers la surface pour frayer.
