Sander lucioperca (Linnaeus, 1758)

Sa taille varie entre 50 et 70 cm, bien que des spécimens plus grands soient relativement rares. Son corps est allongé, fuselé et assez robuste, avec une tête large et plate, semblable à celle du brochet, ce qui explique son nom latin. Des barres sombres et verticales sur les flancs sont assez caractéristiques. La coloration est gris argenté à vert olive sur le dos, avec des flancs plus clairs, légèrement dorés. Ses nageoires sont brunâtres, et la nageoire dorsale est bipartite. La nageoire caudale présente également une échancrure.

Biotope / Habitat

Il préfère les eaux relativement profondes, souvent dans des rivières et des lacs à courant modéré, et se cache dans les zones peu profondes.
