Méduse transparente de 30 cm de diamètre environ et dont l'estomac forme une croix blanche caractéristique :
- aplatie, transparente parfois teintée de bleu,
- grande croix gastrique blanche, parfois rose,
- 200 à 300 tentacules marginaux courts et fins, en forme de tire-bouchon à la base de l'ombrelle.
