Little cuttlefish

Sepiola atlantica d'Orbigny, 1839

Seiche de petite taille, ne dépassant pas environ 45 à 50 mm. Son corps est relativement globuleux. Ses qualités de mimétisme font que ses couleurs et motifs du corps sont très variables en fonction du substrat ; la face inférieure est plus claire. Présence de deux nageoires bilatérales en position postérieure sur le manteau. Deux gros yeux sphériques enchassés dans le manteau, formant un renflement de chaque côté.

Biotope / Habitat

Profondeur de l'étage infralittoral et légèrement plus, substrat sableux et vaseux pour s'enfouir si nécessaire.
