Remarkable
Poisson d'assez grande taille généralement entre 50 et 80 centimètres.
Corps massif et trapu, coloration variant du brun au gris, soit avec des taches rondes plus sombres allant du rouge-orangé au marron ou soit avec cinq marbrures verticales.
Nageoires pectorales et dorsales grandes et arrondies.
Plus actif pendant la nuit pour chasser. Il est souvent solitaire.
