- taille : 3 à 5 cm - corps allongé et épais, avec des cérates dorsaux rose-rouge plus ou moins transparents (extrémités mauves) réunis par 3 à 9 - tête comportant 2 tentacules buccaux longs-lisses, 2 rhinophores annelés - tâche oculaire observable à la base des rhinophores - se nourrit d'hydraires sur lesquels on peut observer les pontes (roses) - espèce hermaphrodite

Possible confusions

Flabelline d'Ischia - Paraflabellina ischitana : les cérates n'ont pas l'anneau violet au bout et ils sont transparents Coryphelle mauve - Edmundsella pedata : cérates blancs à l'extrémité et rhinophores lisses ou fripés blancs à leur extrêmité
